You may have seen the advertisements in your Yahoo mailbox telling you that you can make a lot of money if you become a secret shopper. These have also popped up in spam emails. There is such a thing as a secret shopper, but these particular ads are not the real thing. You will be hard pressed to find a secret shopper that has made a lot of money doing it. Some make a decent living, but it is a lot of hard work, and they have to earn every cent. With commissions slowly going down, this is getting harder and harder to do. Watch This.
There are many legitimate secret shopper companies, and you will rarely see ads for the real thing begging you to become a secret shopper. Most of these companies have more shoppers than they need, so they don’t need to advertise. If you really want to become a secret shopper, you have to do your homework. You have to find the legitimate companies and sign up. If you live in a small town or smaller city, don’t expect to find a lot of work in your area. In order to become a secret shopper that has a busy schedule, you have sign up for many companies. This might mean spending weeks on your computer filling out applications for hundreds of companies. Internet Shopping
There is something about Internet shopping that evokes a certain primitive fear in me. Most of my friends have started to shop on Internet years ago, but it took me until this last year to finally get started. I have a high-speed Internet connection, and in most senses I am a pretty Web savvy, high-tech kind of guy. Nevertheless, shopping on the Internet scares me. Think about it this way: if you walk into a store, you have every opportunity to see if something looks fishy. If the clerk looks dishonest, if there are people waiting around looking for your credit card number, or if the store seems to sell shabby wares, you can always back out before it is too late. At an Internet shop, however, you have no chance to do any of this. Basically, you have to just trust a total stranger, sight unseen. That is something that is hard for me to do.
Sooner or later though, it was bound to happen. I was finally drawn into Internet shopping by what draws everyone into Internet shopping: the convenience. Instead of ordering a book into my local bookstore, waiting several weeks and going to pick it up, I can order it for a cheaper price through Amazon. And if you are looking for hard to find or collectible items, Internet shops are the only way to go. There are more and more things nowadays that you can not get unless you use the Internet.
For example, one of my cousins just recently bought a highly coveted item in an Internet antique shop. It was a turn-of-the-century lamp, and it was absolutely gorgeous. He had been looking for it for years, and if it hadn't been for Internet shopping he might never have found it. The fact that he was able to browse the wares of many national and regional antique dealers made the Internet shopping more valuable than all the hours he spent looking through various antique shops. It gave him more shopping power than he would have normally had.
Nonetheless, I am still pretty conservative with my Internet shopping habits. Most of my friends will buy things just about anywhere, but I will only go to a few different stores. It still makes me too nervous to give out my credit card over the Internet, you see, and I would rather miss out on a few deals than compromise my financial future.

If you are shopping for a mobile phone, you are going to soon learn all about mobile phone shops and how annoying they can be. I have yet to walk into one and not be annoyed. I know the salespeople have a job to do, but I often feel like I can’t breathe. Because the mobile phone industry is so competitive, most of the employees in mobile phone shops will do just about anything to get your business, even if it means annoying you into a sale. Sometimes, you consider buying just to get them to stop talking.
It is a fierce market, and it is understandable that a sales person will want to do everything they can to get you to sign up for their service. There is a problem, however, when you can’t walk into mobile phone shops and be left alone for a moment. Every time I have walked into one I have been instantly greeted, which was fine, but the sales person never leaves my side. All I want to do was look around, but I wasn’t able to do this on my own without feeling really rude about it.
Perhaps this is when those who work at mobile phone shops should remember that not everyone walking in is looking for a new contract. Some of us have one, thank you very much, and others don’t have any need for one, and opt for the prepaid type of service. Sometimes, we come into mobile phone shops just to get our phone accessories, or perhaps we need our phone to be fixed. Please don’t jump on us right away!
This is even a problem in the mall. Some of these mobile phone shops are nothing more than a kiosk in the middle of the mall. It’s a great place to have a shop, but you can’t even walk by without an employee trying to use eye contact to draw you into their web of salesmanship. It’s almost like a tractor beam you can’t quite escape. You can see it in the eyes of the employee, they are going to get you as a customer and you are going to have to fight tooth and nail to escape. Once mobile phone shops become truly mobile, and are going door to door, I think I am going to resign myself to owning six different phones, just to get them to leave me alone.

Making Your Digital Camera Battery Last Longer
With all the features digital cameras have these days, you may find keeping batteries a problem. This could well be your biggest expense, but there are some things you can do to increase the length of time your batteries stay charged. Let’s start with the three biggest sources of power drain.
The LCD screen takes up the most power. It is possible to turn this feature off unless you really feel the need for it. Using the camera’s viewfinder will conserve power. Another big power drain is the flash. Whenever you can, use natural lighting to take your photos and turn off the flash. This will help save your battery for times when you absolutely need the flash. A third drain on your battery is constantly using your zoom. It takes more power zooming in and out than it does keeping your zoom at a steady place. Try to find a setting you like and sticking with it as much as possible..
Some other things you can do to make your battery last longer are::
* Make sure Power Saving mode is on, or simply switch off your camera when you're not using it.
*In cold weather, keep your camera and batteries warm in your jacket until you are ready to use them. The cold drains batteries very quickly.
*Store batteries in a cool, dry location away from sunlight and other heat sources.
*Avoid unnecessary playback of your already taken images. Try to decide when you take the picture if it is a “keeper” or needs deleted and then refrain from reviewing until the pictures are downloaded to your computer.
*Use the AC adapter. Most digital cameras have an adapter that allows you to plug directly into a power point. If you don’t plan on moving around a lot and are near an outlet, the AC adapter will increase the life of your batteries.

Don't let your desire for secret shopper jobs get in the way of your good judgment and common sense. If an offer sounds too good to be true, it probably is.
So what kind of compensation can you expect to earn from a secret shopper job? This depends on a number of variables, so it's difficult to give you an exact figure. But in general, you'll either receive cash for submitting your shopping report, and/or you'll be reimbursed for any money you spend on your outing. In the cases of restaurant and hotel visits, this of course means you'll have enjoyed a good meal or hotel stay for free. In other instances, you'll be given spending money up front, and you'll be allowed to keep the merchandise that you purchase. I use Paypal a lot, and I have found it to be one of the most convenient ways to pay for anything you may buy online. I use it to get paid for my job, and it has always been safe and secure for me. I like that it is as convenient as it is, and that I can also go to a Paypal shop to find exactly what I’m looking for. It saves a lot of guesswork when looking for somewhere to shop online. I have found many great web sites where I would have wanted to buy something, only to have gone through the process of checking out to find out that they do not take Paypal.
If you go to the Paypal web site, you will find a very long list of shops. Each Paypal shop will accept Paypal along with many other forms of payment. This makes searching for what you need very convenient. You don’t have to worry about them taking Paypal as your payment, because they would not be listed as a Paypal shop and they did not. If you use the search feature, you can quickly and easily find the site you need. You also get to see their rating, which tells you how many secure transactions they have successfully completed. This may help you decide if you want to buy from a web site or not.
The problem with the list is that there are many shops that are either closed, or do not have a good reputation. I don’t know what the screening process is to become a Paypal shop, but it may only require that you take Paypal. When you are looking for a Paypal shop, make sure you look through the shop or web site to see if you like what you see. If you get a funny feeling about a website, don’t shop there just because they seem to be endorsed by Paypal.
When you are dealing with a Paypal shop, you have the protection of Paypal behind you. If you order something, and it is not as described, you can file a complaint through Paypal. In most cases, if your complaint is legitimate, you will be able to get your money back. I bought flowers once through a Paypal shop, and the flowers were never delivered. Because the site was worried about their reputation, they refunded my money immediately. Though I did not have to go through Paypal to get my money back, I am relatively certain that would not have been a problem. If you are worried about security, shopping through Paypal is the way to go.
